lightweight storyline

Reading other reviews I think this book suffers because it is not the Adams family. The plot is insubstantial and the characters miss having the likable factor. I give it 3 stars because it is possibly beach or transport reading. You simply take whats written at face value without thought or curiosity. I would not like to know anymore about the characters whereas with the Adams family I couldnt wait for the next book to come out

disappointed

The adams family were my first foray into reading family sagas and I loved them but all but her books since have been disappointing and this one didn't hold my attention at all.I think the author should stay with what she does best and write about families over a number of decades. I have now moved on to other authors until Ms Staples produces another of these sagas.

Very Disappointed

I love Mary Jane Staples books, especially the Adams Family, and have read all the books several times. But I'm afraid this one is a great disappointment from begining to end, and quiet a boring read, and has to be the worst book she has ever written i'm afraid to say. One feels one knows who done it right from the start and one is right. Their is only one surprise in the whole book, which has nothing to do with the story line.
