Surprisingly good

Until I got past the prologue everything was telling me I wasn't going to like this book. The movie trailers and blurb both put me off - I thought it was going to be another childish awkward exploitation of sci-fi.
I was wrong.
On a friend's recommendation I read it and the story really captivated me and I liked the thought that went into creating other languages.
Will definitely read the next one, and possibly even watch the movie.

I Rate This (and I'm not usually a fantasy fan)
|
I recently read this book on holiday, and found it a very refreshing read. The characters are set in a world not of our own which enables the reader to just lose themselves in the book. Granted, this book was written to appeal both to adults and children so isn't the most complex of reads, but I enjoyed it and would definitely reccommend it. I'm currently reading the second in the trilogy, 'Eldest' so will review that also when I've finished.
In short, as someone who usually gets bored by fantasy books, I can say I thoroughly enjoyed it. Considering Paolini wrote this when he was only fifteen, I'm very much looking forward to his publications in the future!
