I was so glad to find a new book from Deric it was lovely and very funny. I have read all his other books and hope he is well enough to write a few more.

I found this book by Deric Longden very funny and I really laughed
|
I found this book by Deric Longden very funny indeed and I laughed a lot. I thought that it was very funny in the motorway cafe when the Irishman came up to Deric and the Irishman's teeth were moving about.
Deric is very good at describing; the cat's antics and about life in general.
On a serious note I was concerned to read that Deric had been ill but I hope that things are OK for him now.
I have some books of Deric's on my shelf so I look forward to reading them.
All the best to Deric and Aileen and a great book.

Wonderful as ever
|
This is another wonderful book from my favourite author and well worth the wait, although it is sad to hear Deric has been ill.
This book had much sadder undertones as Deric contemplated the reality of ageing for both himself, Aileen and the cats. Only Deric has ever managed to move me from laughter to tears in a couple of paragraphs and I read the book in one sitting (one very late night).
I'm originally from Huddersfield, with family still there, so there is the added element of knowing exactly the places he is talking about, especially the Midland Bank in a cupboard - it really is tiny!
Everytime I go back I'm always on the look out for him when I am in Marsh or Greenhead Park, and keep my eyes peeled for Tigger or Thermal (local heroes).
I am in two minds about wishing for another book. I never tire of his writing but any future book is bound to be tinged with more sadness as Thermal and Tigger age and Deric's health is in the balance - this is real not fiction.
I wish them all health and happiness, and thinking about it - another book!

Totally hilarious!
|
I've read Deric's other books and thoroughly enjoyed them, so I wasn't expecting this one to be any different. It wasn't!
Back after a fairly long illness, Deric is on top form and I recommend this book to anyone wanting a laugh. This book is a laugh a minute and if you're owned by cats yourself, you'll relate to it even more!
More books please, Deric!
