grrrreat!

This is one of my favourite books of all time. Its funny because you can easily imagine all the things that the main character experiences would happen to you! Its really realistic, and Sophie Kinsella obviously has had first hand experiences of being a finacial Journilist. I would give this a easy 5/5. This is the first book I had read of Sophie Kinsella's. And it made me but all of her other books. Pure perfection!!! :)

Get a life

Kinsella is so widely raved about that I decided to drop the intellectual snobbery and give this book a try as an amusing light read. It was so dire, I'm not sure I have the stomach to finish it, and my first venture into "chick lit" will surely be my last. It is so shallow, albeit in a self-conscious ("ironic"?) way, it drove me mad. I found the "poor fluffy little me stuggling to bluff it in the big bad grown up world" nauseating. It's not even redeemed by humour because what there is of it is entirely reliant on very cliched stereotypes. If it were written by a man, people would be outraged at how sexist it is. Fans will say I'm missing the point and should lighten up, but even if Kinsella was once ahead of the game by writing in this way, its startling unoriginality is just another annoyance. I expected a juice bar/coffee shop rather than Heston Blumenthal, but ended up with soggy flourescent candy floss.

So Funny I DID Laugh Out Loud!

This book is totally fantastic. It is the funniest book I've read. I like the Shopaholic serious, but I loved this! Laughed out loud all the way through.

A brilliant, fun read.

As a fan of Kinsella's Shopaholic series, I was delighted to find that this book was easily as good as any of those. You warm to her characters and accept their flaws and enjoy being taken along for the ride. It is no literary classic, but it is still a good, fun, easy read for the beach or train. You will race through it in a matter of days, as it is very entertaining. This book maybe pure chick-lit, but it is unashamedly so, and one of the best of its genre.

A good read

I bought this book straight after i finished the shopaholic books (which i am now re-reading). Its great, and has the same humour that i loved in the other series. Only downside is that in my opinion it is not as good as the shopaholic books. It seems too predictable in some ways. But it is definitely worth a read.
