A Classic

Can't believe I've never read this before but I read it last week after seeing the film with my husband who loves it. Great great read. The story unfolds beautifully keeping me turning from one scene to the next with interest, even though I have never seen what people see in horses. The character of the girl is heartbreaking and he paints a realistic picture of her pain and her poor relationship with her mother. Thought the ending was surprising (maybe because it's different from the movie). Think I like it better than the movie though because it seems more dramatic. Goes out with a bang not a whimper. Will read all his novels now.

Great read couldn't put it down

I first saw the movie which I really enjoyed loving horses and the romance story in it. I have recently read the book which I found to be very enjoyable and was sad once I finished it cause I did't want it to end. The movie was close to it but coudlnt do the book enough justice. This is a really great read and will read it again in the future.

A beautiful book

This book draws you in; there has never been a book known to me that is written in such a way that you almost feel you are there with them, the scene of the accident is much better performed in this book than it ever could be by a film director (Robert Redford especially) and it truly opens up the imagination.
You get taken in with the emotion of the story and the plight of the main characters to the degree that I couldn't bring myself to read the final part 5 due to not wanting it to end.

This book was excellent. I read it in the last 3 days. I can see why it sold millions of copies. Breathtaking scenery described so well that i could truely picture it. It was written so eloquently, it flowed gracefully and i am going to read it again. I have just got Nicholas Evans other books too 'The Divide' and 'The smoke jumper' and im gonna bury my head in them for the next few days.
