The Long Road Home

The first Danielle Steel book i have ever read and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it!! I had always thought she was a slushy author but this book tackles tough subjects, such as child abuse, suicide and alcoholism. All about the life of a little girl who was born into a wealthy family, who did not ever love her and her journey to find where she belongs. It travels in a way that is emotive and just reading it in places made me want to cry. I shall definitely be reading more Danielle Steel books in the future.

A heart wrenching insight into the human sprit.

As a 14 year old l was advised against reading this book but l know this book will stay with me for the rest of my life. It's haunting early chapters made the book a morbid yet enticing read. The protrayal of the characters and the plot development were nothing short of precise in every angle. The description and word choice alone made the book exciting and unpredictable for everyone from all back grounds and age groups.

fantastic novel one of her best

I can honestly say this book was one of the best Danielle Steel has written although I feel her storylines tend to all follow a similar pattern this book totally stood out the characters and storyline was fantastic. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down. I found myself wanting to read more about the life of Gabrielle. I would love to see this story as a film

This book was recommended to me by a friend. Once I picked it up and started reading it I couldn't put it down. I found myself crying at certain parts of the book.

Sadly lacking in a vaguely believable plot

As a romance/trash book junkie I actually found this book very disappointing. The main character was so good, nice kind, beautiful etc., regardless of the traumas she seemed to go through every five minutes, that I found her totally nauseating. The whole book was repetitive and the plot could have developed into something more interesting and believable.
