Loses its way in the second half
|
|
This book starts well, but then, just when things are getting interesting, it jumps forward several years, completely bypassing the good stuff. It then gets completely bogged down in the interminable excavations at Landing. Also has many odd bits as it simply recounts what happened in White Dragon and Dragon quest from a different perspective. Maybe interesting for die hard fans, who get excited just reading the word "Lessa", but no one else.

Very Good

This book, while not one of Anne's best work, is a welcome addition to the Pern series. While most of the others concentrate on the Weyrleaders or Harpers, this focuses on the lower ranks of people on Pern, giving a ery welcome insight into their lives.

not so good book from Pern cycle

For the fans of Pern books, this book explains how and why Jayge and Aramina (girl who heard dragons) got to Southern continent. The book fills some holes, but as itself is not much worth reading.
