This is a briliant book if you come from dundee or enjoy history. It portrays a vivid picture of dundee from the 16th centuary onwards. Its amazing to read about dundee and the surrounding areas from when it was a mere village on the Tay. To read descriptions of streets and buildings which are still standing to this day.
The story revolves around the family English who decended from a witch who was burned at the stake in the Seagate. The book follows each generation of the English upto the 20th centuary.
This is definately a recommended read for anyone living in dundee or anyone interested in Scottish and indeed British history.
