One of the major problems with teaching pronumciation for tutors is that their awareness of different vowel sounds is often minimal, making the construction of materials time-intensive. This book provides specific activities for a LARGE number of sounds, which enables the book to guide the tutor. All students should be realised that some of these are going to be staightforward for you, and others will be really difficult to perfect. Selection of modules can be useful for shorter courses:take a look at this site for example: http://www.btinternet.com/~ted.power/phono.html All in all some good things here, and a useful progression, remember the hard work is on the sounds not just gettting the answers. Practise and get corrections and you should find this book useful! The tutor's book can appear a little daunting at first, as the activites are closely packed, but as you realise each unit is for a complete session you can relax a little: PUTTING more into the tutors book with fuller examples and extension materials would be an improvement.
