Excellent german short stories

This book contains five short stories in German alongside parallel translations in English. The stories showcase a nice selection of German language writing in a variety of different genres and the translations are good, generally following the intended sense of the writers rather than looking for an exact translation. This makes the English versions enjoyable to read in their own right and also goes a little way to prevent the translations being too much of a crutch. The complexity of German is reasonably high however, I would suspect that this book is suitable for university level students or those who already have a good grasp of written German.
