Highly recommended text for teachers. Can seem heavy going at first glance, but broken down into manageable chunks, this book gives a great insight into dyslexia and manages to dispel many of the myths connected with the condition.

An invaluable reference

Dr Reid's third edition of 'Dyslexia : A Practitioner's Handook' is as claimed thoroughly revised. It is has a wider focus than previous editions with practices and procedures presented in a contextualised setting under the broad heading of 'Inclusion'. The book will become essential reading for those who seek to understand more about dyslexia such as those responsible for making special educational provision for the dyslexic child and those involved in serious study of the subject. Any university or college offering teacher professional development in special needs or teacher-training courses at either post-graduate or under-graduate level will need to stock Reid's work.

most informative and comprehensive ever

Although written for professionals in mind, it will be invaluable for anyone wanting to know, and understand, more about Dyslexia Unfortunately the price of this book is likely to make it beyond the pocket of most parents, but I urge you to beg your library to stock it, and your SENCO somehow to find the money for the school to purchase Dyslexia.
