I read this a few years back, but from what I remember....This is a great biography, especially if your interested in diving. It tells the story of Greg's troubles as a child, and how his father disproved of his interest in gymnastics etc. He then had to deal with being gay and being diagnosed HIV+. Greg Louganis is probably most famous for banging his head on the high board during the 1988 Olympics. He sustained a bad injury, which was bleeding heavily and he worried about contaminating the pool and infecting others divers, however the virus would be too dilute! He picked himself back up and went on to win double gold medals. He is amazing!

No one will ever forget THAT dive in Seoul in 1988 when he banged his head well.....If you thought that a sports star life was all about glamour then you are about to be surprised. Even though Greg achieved the ultimate in his sport twice (Olympic gold), he went though hell to get their. Both his personal life and sporting career are subjectively opened up to everyone. This is very appropriate as a text for sport students dealing with both social and psychological reasons for sport and the dedication required. It is not about a man bragging about his achievements but about someone who had issues that he should have dealt with many years ago, now he has decided is the time for him. Good Luck. He now has one of his biggest battles to deal with HIV and the 'perception' of him in sport. But at last he has accepted this him self. A must!
