As a recreational runner, I absolutely loved this book. After reading it, I felt as if I'd run every step of the Badwater Marathon by the author's side. This book is essentially a very personal account of one man's attempt to run the Badwater Marathon. The author's writing style is so descriptive that you really feel as if you're going through this massive feat of endurance with him. The book starts with the run up to the marathon itself, with the author describing the events in his life that have lead him to want to complete one of the hardest marathons on earth (namely the sudden death of his brother.)As the author searches for his own answers, you can't help but find yourself unavoidably caught up in this intense period of his life. I'd thoroughly recommend this book to runners and non-runners alike.
