A must read for trainee childcare assessors
|
This book will be a great help for any new assessor who is experienced in childcare, but not at assessing candidates using a range of methods. It will also help you to understand the new level 2 and 3 CCLD qualifications as it gives an explanation of the more common units (especially if you trained some time ago in childcare and did the Early Years or City and Guilds qualification).
It's split in to easy sections, focussing on how best to support your candidates; the assessment process and how to give feedback; the A1 award; developing reflective practice; and using different types of evidence for different units.
There's real life case studies, tasks, questions and good practice checklists throughout to help you reflect.
I wish this book has been available two years ago when I did my A1 award. I'm now assessing A1's and I make sure this book is given as part of their induction so they get it right from the start! Don't be put off if you're doing A2 instead - it will certainly help you.
