City & Guilds 2330 Level I, II, and III - very useful book
Like its brother (book 1) this book has clear diagrams, concise information and appropriate levels of mathematical involvement for the (2330) I am at level III 2330 taking exams this year and have bought this book because it summarises what I must learn in the City & Guilds Schema v2.2 Certificate in Electrotechnical Technology - Installation buildings and structures. Again there are a couple of errors, but no book is without errors so do check your BS7671 Regulations for clarification on each one u think is wrong. Again I recommend this book for the Unit 1 2330-301 component of 2330. (online exam) and the NICEIC Inspection and testing book (ISBN 0-9531058-8-1)for 302 and any up to date snags and solutions will help with the diagnosis and faultfinding (303).

City & Guilds 2330 Level I, II, and III - very useful book

This book has clear diagrams, concise information and appropriate levels of mathematical involvement for what is a brand new course. (2330) I am at level III 2330 taking exams this year and have bought this book because it summarises what I must learn in the City & Guilds Schema v2.2 Certificate in Electrotechnical Technology - Installation buildings and structures. There are a couple of errors but check your BS7671 Regulations for clarification on each one u think is wrong. I have studied the schema in detail and recommend this book for the Unit 1 2330-301 component of 2330. (online exam) The Units 2 and 3 are another thing entirely though. . NICEIC Inspection and testing book is what u need for 2 and any up to date snags and solutions will help with the diagnosis and faultfinding (3).

would not recommend buying this book
it is littered with mistakes, simple calculation performed on three-phase systems is incorrect, similar with diversity, the author state that 100 mA RCD can be used for personel protection against electric shock?, but had previously stated that above 50 mA would kill, the whole book is littered with errors. Do not buy.

A disappointing book
Poor explanations of topics in this book particularly the chapters on earthing and protection, lighting, circuits and systems.
I would advise would be sparkys NOT to buy this book as it is too oversimplified!!
Not enough numerical problems at the back of the book
Poor explantions in some areas
A greatly oversimplified book with poor explanations in some areas particularly 3 phase supplies and electrical circuits!!
Certainly more examples could have been written at the back of each chapter giving students practice with calculations.
If you use this book in isolation to become a sparky then you will fail!!
