I have been reading a copy of "Romeo and Juliet" by William Shakespear as part of my Higher English course, and have enjoyed it very much. I normally find the language used in Shakespear's plays quite hard to understand, but this book made it much easier, as it gave summaries of what was happening, and gave explanations of certain difficult words and phrases in the play. I found that this was especially helpful when being asked to write about certain aspects of the play and also when making notes on important scenes. The story of "Romeo and Juliet" is also very absorbing, linking together the the love between Romeo and Juliet, and the conflict between their two families which hinders their love and leads to a tragedy. The characters are also well thought out and developed, with the aggressive Tybalt, the joker, Mercutio, and of course the two lovers, Romeo and Juliet. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys tragic love stories, or anyone who enjoys reading Shakespear's plays, but finds the language used hard to understand. It is also an excellent book for anyone studying the play in depth, like myself.
