Customer Reviews:
Definitely not therapeutic enough
Matthew Jones' previous contribution to the New Doctor Who Adventures series was a short story entitled 'The Nine Days Queen', from the anthology 'Decalog 2'. Judging by this full-length effort he should have stuck to short stories. 'The Nine Days Queen' was a taut, cohesive and sparky tale featuring the first Doctor in a classic historical setting. 'Bad Therapy' on the other hand, is an attempt to deal with the seventh Doctor in 1950s London; there are some intriguing characters and moments of tension but effectively the author falls into the same trap as many of his predecessors - the interest is dulled by the usual allegations from his companion of The Doctor meddling too much and a maudlin feel that pervades the story due to the death of Roz in the previous adventure. Oh and if like me you like to read a series of novels in the correct order, you will be stuffed by the asinine publishing of this before 'So Vile a Sin'; the story in which Roz actually dies!
