We Are Never Too Young for Life's Lessons
|
This is a book with lovely stories that then provide life lessons.
One of my favourites was about a mother and her child and their daily routine. The child plays in the garden, whilst the mother attends to chores, then they have a catnap before walking into town. They window shop each day because they don't have a lot of money. They enjoy simple pleasures. One day they experience some bullies in the market square and the mother intervenes. In this particular tale, it shows that regardless of what we have, we always have something to share. If we don't speak up for what is right, who will? We can never let the strong abuse the weak. When we need the power we have it. It's always our responsibility to care for those less fortunate than ourselves. Parents can teach so much to their children through their actions. We feel good about ourselves if we do what is right for us! The book shows how even when we are very young, we learn things daily that continue to inform us in our lives throughout adulthood.
Enjoy!
