Not bad - I guess I'll go for the next episode
|
The book is like playing the game with the only difference that you do not have to struggle to play the same part over and over again until you succeed.
The plot is interesting. Starts well, then becomes a bit boring in the middle (having Sam brake into every place becomes a bit repetitive). Then the ending is good again.
The annoying part of this book I found is the editing of it - too many typos. All the "the the" and so for 100s of times.
A good read - give it a try - you may also like it.

Enthralling... Captivating...

I'm a great fan of Tom Clancy, and have just read with satisfaction, Checkmate. This is a first rate novel which has depth and pace, and keeps the reader riveted from the first page to the last. While writing this review, I would also recommend Andrew Towning's 'The Constantine Legacy. This little known author is well worth a read also.

Great Read
|
Having read the previous 'Splinter Cell' novels in this series I looked forward to kicking back on Holiday and getting into this one. The first thing I noticed was a change in the writing style from the first two which had chapters written in `the first person'. Michaels seems to have dispensed with this style in favour of a more conventional approach.
Apart from this, the plot is quick and as always, believable. The technology used by Fisher, although futuristic, is not beyond the realms of possibility which gives the story a nice edge. As in the previous offerings in the Splinter Cell series, the story is fast-paced and draws you in from the beginning. I'm really looking forward to the next book.

Brilliant!

This book is absolutely brilliant. The pace, dialogue and plot are well crafted, the atmosphere and story telling are engaging, the characters, locations and technology are well placed and really believable. I struggled to put this book down, it'll be read again soon.
Superb!

A Great Read For A ny Splinter Cell Fan!! (Excellent)
|
|
I have just, this very minute, finished this book. It is an excellent read. I am a fan of Splinter Cell so, this book was even greater. Even if you're new to the Splinter Cell world, this book is jammed with action, suspence and occasional humour. Sam Fisher is the finest and is good at his job. You can read what happens in his latest adventure. I promise...you will not be disappointed. Read the two previous Splinter Cell novels if you can help it, though, because it will explain Sam Fisher's background and why he is so good at what he does. You will enjoy this if you enjoyed the games. Enjoy!
