This book takes RE student teachers through from the initial questions to finding a job, step-by-step. The various authors who have contributed compliment each other as they address their specific specialism in RE. All the issues are covered. The book is clearly presented with interesting case studies and tasks to reinforce the points made. The initial question any students ask is 'why'? This is where the book starts. Gradually each issue is addressed; there are chapters on language, assessment, SEN, KS4 and 16+. There is also a section on wider school discussions such as collective worship and spirituality in school. The final section covers professional development including getting a suitable post, IT in RE, and further training after qualifying. This book will be useful beyond the initial teacher training course. This is an extremely useful book for the intended audience (although highly specialist) - the series does include books for the majority of secondary school subjects. This is a must have!!
