The Plantaganets were in my opinion a very colourful part of the british history. The Sun in Splendour is a story about Edward the Fourth. It tells of the fantastic romance that shakes the country, when the king falls in love with a widow that refuses to become his mistress. In spite of Warwicks plans to marry the king to a french princess the king falls in love with Elizabeth Woodville. They become the parents of Edward the fifth and Richard Duke of York, who are more famous as 'the princes in the tower'. Edward the Fourth also became famous for his many mistresses and specifically for the a woman known as the goldsmith's wife. Jean Plaidy has written another novel specifically about this woman, which is a heartwarming story written from her point of view. I loved all the Plantaganet books, but this one I would read again, more than once.
