"Science Made Stupid" is anything BUT stupid! Tom Weller knows science, and if you know science, you'll find that his twisted explanations of natural phenomena are dead on! Tom skewers the study of various scientific disciplines (physics, geology, etc.) and re-invents the definitions of scientific principles. In one instance, he puts together a revised Geologic Time Scale, renaming the eras, periods, and epochs (for example, "Metatarsal" for "Mesozoic") and describes the life forms ("big warty things") and geologic events ("Swamps form") which characterize the "Cryptic" period. His "how-to" plans for building your own seismometer or nuclear reactor are hilarious. His ability to deconstruct the scientific method will make this book a hit for any scientist. Weller also blesses us with numerous illustrations, which can't adequately be described in words. If you can find a copy of this book, BUY IT. I've shared portions of it with all my geologist friends, who have begged to buy it from me. But I'll never sell - this is just too much fun to let go!
