disappointing ending to the series

I loved the first three books in the series but found this one to be an utter dissapointment. I felt like it was a needless extention, the stories dragged on and seemed to be copied from various tv programs.
Bridget's story was especially a let down with her repeating old mistakes. I thought that the second book had helped her get over her issues. Yet here she again pursues an older man, a MARRIED older man, even though she is in a relationship herself - Lena again deals with freeing herself - and Tibby again can't deal with her relationship with Brian. Although the reason for their issues are different the issues themselves were the same - their stories seem reshashed versions of the ones from the earlier books.
Carmen's story was the only saving grace with her dealing with loosing her identity at college.
I wish I hadn't read this book and that the third one had been the last. It was a much more satisfying conclusion to the series.

I couldn't think of a better way to end it

I won't get into the details because some persons above me already did. I cried, I cried so hard it was unbelievable. I didn't think it would end like this I didn't even see it coming but i'm glad thought because I wouldn't want to know that finally Brian and Tibby maybe weren't meant to be or that Lena never saw Kostos again. It would have crushed me. Just to think that at the end of the book they were together (and apart) made it easier for me to let go.

A wonderful concluding novel to the much-loved chronicles of the sisterhood

First off, if you're unfamiliar with the names Lena, Tibby, Carmen and Bee (or 'Bridget'), stop reading here and go and buy 'The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants', 'The Second Summer of the Sisterhood' and 'Girls in Pants'. It's important that you know these characters before you read the final book.
Fans who have followed Lena, Tibby, Carmen and Bee over the last few years will not be disappointed with this final installment. In many ways it's different from the other books; the characters have grown up, and I think Brashares expects her readers to have done so, as well. The ambiguity from the first book is gone, and the tough lessons the young women have to deal with in this book the readers have to go through equally.
Even three summers later, Kostos is still in Lena's thoughts. Readers will be urging her to move on, as she urges herself to when she meets someone new, but Brashares has an interesting twist to come.
Tibby's relationship with Brian couldn't be better- until she gets a scare and finds herself shunning him out, not realising she might later regret it.
Carmen has lost herself over the last year, becoming 'friends' with someone, without realising that not all 'friends' are like the girls in her sisterhood.
Bee, who we were led to believe has grown up, returns for a moment to her old reckless ways, but it's her strive to overcome this rather than to fall victim to it that shows her maturity.
As for the jeans, or the 'pants', as they are called, the young women's pursuit of a grown-up life leads them to question what the jeans mean to them and what their purpose, originally as a symbol of undying unity, is, until an accident in Greece leaves the question answered for them.
This is a wonderful book, and the friendship between the four is stronger than ever. Even though it's the end of an era for Lena, Tibby, Carmen and Bridget, as well as their fans, it's a promising one which will leave readers glad they embarked upon this journey with them.

life isn't like this

I enjoyed all other traveling pants's story, but not really this one. I used to dislike Carmen most since she is really spoiled, but in this one even she is growing up, so were others apart from Tibby. Tibby is turning from 19 to 5 years old. You own something but you don't care about it so you dump it, but when someone take it, you moan and cry and claim you love it very much. Is it LOVE? No. I don't feel Tibby even really care about Brain--who will take 12 hours bus to see a girl he loves, how many boys can do this???one in a billion?--let alone LOVE. I can understand Lena's anger and why she had done what she did, but not Tibby. Kind of you owe me, the world owe me type of girl. Also Bee felt Turkey is full of most ancient historical places, well, so were other places such as Iraq, India, Egypt, China and Puru.......... No offence to Turkey or Greece but there're other places like that too. If you like history, you will know it's true. May be author try to make it sounds romatic but only show the shallow knowledge about history or author thinks only white people's history counts?
Last, I do know it's a fiction story. But books are enjoyable because it reflect the real life. But this one is not. It's EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE FINE IN THE END. Can we just break up with someone who loves you dearly and make it up when we feel like? Just say sorry and things will go on fine? Life isn't like this.
All in all, it isn't a bad book if you like happy ending. Without Tibby's worst human behavier--because author are making excuses for Tibby --, I'd give 4 stars. Now it's only 2.

FOREVER IN BLUE is truly a bittersweet book! It has a truly amazing story but I'm sad that this is the final book in the SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS series. I never wanted this series to end! It is a remarkable ending to such a great series, though!
Lena: She is afraid that when she finally forgets about Kostos he will reappear. At her college she is taking a summer painting class and maybe she will meet someone new there.
Carmen: Shy Carmen, who thinks that she is invisible to the rest of the college students, finally makes a friend. She and her new friend have a summer that no one would suspect.
Bridget: She goes on an archaeological dig in Turkey and meets someone that she can't have. But what about Erik, who is still in love with her???
Tibby: Tibby and Brian have a few rough spots in their relationship. Will they be able to handle it? Or will it mean the end of their relationship?
As I'm sure you can tell there is never a dull moment while reading this book. There is always something going on with everyone. There is a major twist in the end of the book that I never saw coming. You will have to be the judge on whether it's a good twist or not, but I thought that it was well put and really tied in to the story.
Just as a warning, though, if you have not read the first three books in this amazing series (THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS, THE SECOND SUMMER OF THE SISTERHOOD, GIRLS IN PANTS) do not read this book until you have read the others. I wouldn't want you to ruin a perfectly good, well-written book!
