Laughs all the way.

Me? I read a book, I give it away and never re-read again. This book was different. I read, I laughed out loud, i re-read, I gave it away, I bought it again, I bought the rest of Bill Bryson's books and have kept them on my bookshelf. Just buy it.

Two great books in one

A superb read. I laughed out loud frequently and on trying to read parts out to friends I was unable to finish I was laughing so much. Both books are great: from 'A Walk in the Woods' you'll wonder how either of them survived (and realise how understanding his wife is), in'Down Under' you'll find out more facts about the hazards of Australia then you want, especially if you are about to eat Red Snapper. Enjoy.

Brilliant - but what else would you expect!

Reading this book with a mouthful of stitches, after having all of my wisdom teeth out was probably not a good idea! Compelled to laugh at every inch of the book, never has a book been so painful for being so good! His portrayal of his friend Stephen Katz will be sure to amuse you - whilst the book will also open your eyes to the wider world out there! Read in a day and a half, this book definately kept me in high spirits! Be wise - ignore any critics who may choose to disagree with me, read it! You won't be disappointed!
