Constitutional law vs current events

I think it's time to review what the Constitution of the US meant when it was written, not just what the Supreme Court justices have evolutionized it into. Your book for the country's bicentennial celebration discussed philosophies that were expected of the constitution. It was written with the mindset and vision of those that attended the Constitutional convention & signed the Constitution. If we review the comments from this book, we more clearly see that most scholars today have read much more into the Constitution than I believe our original signers intended. If we move the internet back into the Constitutional Convention era, we see that these people did not allow such topics as bomb making instructions, destructive behaviors, pornography, etc. These people were not necessarily religious, but they knew right from wrong. Children were expected to follow their parents' dictates & parents were expected to demand respect & obedience from their children & parents expected their children to respect them & their elders. I think this lack of respect among people today -- lack of respect for the dignity of the country, of each other, of adults, teachers, parents -- is the leading factors for the poor judgment used in web sites that most of us at least question (like the severely sadistic or degrading content or violence). I do not believe the Constitutional Convention would have sanctioned the disrespect that is rampant worldwide (no, it's not just in the US) among both adults and children -- as demonstrated by 'road rage', gangs & gang graffiti, shootings, & other violent & unacceptable behaviors. We must take stock & the government or another body of Constitutional Conventioneers must reverse the disrespect that we see. When people worldwide begin to respect each others' rights again, the violence will be less necessary (in terms of TV or movies or games) & behaviors will cool off. Until then, which may be 10 or 20 years, we should expect to be governed in an exclusive manner that many will find stifling, but which will be the only way to reduce or subdue the unacceptable behaviors. Unfortunately the internet will be the first victim. Genesis confirms this succinctly. copyright 5/1/99 MGDibblee. You may sign me :"A Constitutional Advocate"
