Well worth the money.

No matter what Maggie writes about, she does it well. I bought this book, not knowing what it was about, just to fill in the total price for free delivery, (Cheap I know). I hate mushy love stories, so was glad this wasn,t one. I don't normally read undercovewr cop stories, but this one had me hooked from the first page. Toni del Rio specialised in turning real-life crime into best-selling fiction, and she was aware that danger came with the territory. This time, however, she was in over her head. While researching the New York Underworld for her latest book, she'd witnessed a mob hit. Now a thug was pointing a gun at her in a shadowy alley and she knew she was a goner... Undercover FBI agent Nick Manelli wasn't about to kill anyone, but if he didn't hide the woman immediately, they would both be dead. So he brought her to the only haven he knew - his place. Alone with nick on close quarters, Toni couldn't help fantisizing about her rugged captor - and the desire, she soon discovered, was mutual... They just hope they both get out of this alive... but they are both in this sticky situation for different reasons, unknown to anyone but themselves.

Reckless Angel... perfect description of both characters

Again, Maggie Shayne has touched elements of danger and intrigue in this detective, crime and romantic story. Having read her previous work, which is more of the supernatural area such as vampires and wicca, it is certainly interesting to see how she has tried to portray characters who are more of this world. The story takes you on a trip to follow the tension between the two main protagonists. The theme of curiousity leading to danger and identities being in a mist and twist creates the very element which makes the reader feel the need to see when and how will the story resolves itself. Maggie Shayne has portray a down-to-earth setting, realistic people in imaginative situations. I have enjoyed the story, but compared to other works which she has done, I would comment it as a snack and not a main meal, unless you LOVE crime and detective romance.
