Customer Reviews:
Three Books in One!
The three books in the han solo adventures are not linked to the movies in any shape or form but it does make han solo and chewie's characters that much more exciting, these books show you that they are in the top elite and it expands on him having more brains that luck and cheap tricks.

The first book "Stars End" is about the duo being brought into a rescue mission, this is where there new long time partners Bollux and Blue Max come into the story, and unlike C3PO these ones play a part in what happens. Out of the three the first book is by far the best, the book builds up in excitement and tension until the big finale at the end, which is well worth the wait.

The Second Book Han Solo's Revenge follows on from the first book where they are now back down on there luck and working on some horrid planet, they then are forced to take a job that sounds dodgy and turns out be out right slavery, they then go out to find out who set them up.

The Third Book The Lost Legacy was a really exciting book, at first i was not looking forward to a treasure hunt story but Brian Daley makes it interesting when the falcon is taken, then the team have to go around a very basic planet, tracking down the murder of lanni's sister, the mastermind behind the falcons disappearance and their journey takes them to learning the truth of The Lost Legacy.

Han Solo and Chewie are by far the best characters, the relationship they have is well written. Blue Max and Bollux are an interesting addition to the story and they play important parts in all three books. During the three books other characters come and go, in the final book "The Lost Legacy" you are introduced to Budure, Han solo's old teacher, this gives you a nice look into Solo's early days.

Less than I expected
Boy, is this book less than I expected. The first story about Star's End is pretty exciting, but the other two stories are nice, nothing more than that. No breathtaking action sequences or starfights, only Han, Chewie and two droids called Bollux and Blue Max going through soma strange environments and having some simple adventures.
THE BEST CHARACTERISATION OF THE SMUGGLER YET
I read 'Splinter of the Mind's Eye' (written in 1977) and to be honest, was less than impressed. So, for obvious reasons I was a bit dubious about these stories written at (roughly) the same time. But when I saw them collected together..., I figured (since I'm a collector) I'd give them a try. BOY WAS I EVER SHOCKED! I discovered that, although there are few links to the modern saga of Star Wars novels, it has by a long shot the best ever characterisation of that dashing rogue that every boy wanted to be when he was a kid, Han Solo. This trilogy doesn't have the scope or rich continuity of A.C Crispin's Han Solo Trilogy, but you really get a sense of these two smugglers being the best in the game. An action packed read.
The best novels written outside the movies and George Lucas!
The first novelizations to be written outside the movies when Star Wars just hit theaters in 1977, the Han Solo trilogy is not only believable and original, but also captures the brash and heroic spirit of Han Solo. In comparison to all the trivial novels being released today by Bantam Books , Brian Daley's simplistic and candid storytelling style will always remain classic and true to the Star Wars universe!
Wow
This is one of the best sets of Star Wars books that I own, it is also the most worn book on my shelf, the cover is badly damaged, the pages are yellow, and there is one corner that is worn down to a curve, I mean, this thing is more damaged than my old college textbooks. The plot is great, the whole thing is very well thought out, and I felt it was a good idea to describe the previous books in the series at the start, and at random places throughout the book. However, it was sad that Bollux and Blue Max simply left to work at some university. I would also like to see a book or two about Xim the Despot.
