When our class read this book, we thought that it wasn't going to be very good because it was set a long time ago in Victorian times. As we read it, it got better and better. Jackson is the main character and he is an orphan who lives on the streets of London in Paddy's Goose. WE felt sorry for him because it was so cold and he had no shoes. We thought that he was going to die. Growler, a dog as big as a donkey, nearly, pads up to Jackson and that's when the adventures begin. It doesn't matter what age you are, if you like adventure stories - READ THIS NOW!

In our reading group we have been reading Fair's Fair By Leon Garfield. Fair's Fair is set in the middle of London during the Victorian period. This is a story about Jackson and Lillipolly and a dog called Growler who they meet. There are also two other characters called Mr Beechame and his lawyer Mr Chuter. The story begins with with Jackson helping Growler and leads to a series of extremely exciting adventures. Our favourite character was Growler because he is sent on the quest to find two kind children. You should read this book because its a fun book which is easy to read and interesting for children. We enjoyed reading this book very much and recommend you should read it yourself.

Teaching you that if you do good others will do good back

The story is about a young boy called Jackson who was eating this pie when a big black dog sat next to him. It had a key on its collar. Jackson gave the dog half of the pie and Jackson got the key. Jackson searched all the houses until he found one that it fitted. He stepped inside to find another orphan LillyPolly at a dinner table. It wasn't LillyPolly's house, but it was her dog. LillyPolly fed leftovers to Jackson. When the 2 Gentleman who owned the house came back, they were surprised to find someone there, but Lilly Polly explained her idea that she would help with the cleaning if she could stay there. One good turn deserves another. I enjoyed this book which I read at school.
