Customer Reviews:
Great book whether you're a big fan of Jennifer or not
I am a huge fan of Friends and am keeping my fingers crossed for a reunion. In the meantime I thought I would give this book a whirl. What a pleasant surprise! There's so much more to Jennifer's life than her time as Rachel Green and her relationship with Brad Pitt. That's not to say that these key areas are not covered in this biography. Far from it. This is a big book at 362 pages and it's fair to say the author covers every aspect of her life. I particularly like the way he treats her seriously as an actress discussing in equal measure her successes and her failures. I was fascinated to learn that her first off-Broadway play was a flop prompting her to move to Los Angeles to try her luck in TV. The move was not an instant success and there were many failures best forgotten before Friends came along.

I had read Sean Smith's biography of Robbie Williams a couple of years ago and thought that was an honest, unbiased account. This is the same. Smith clearly admires Aniston but he does not fawn over her which is refreshing. Instead I felt I was getting to know better a complex woman, fun to be around and fun to read about. My impression was that Jennifer Aniston is far more defined by her early life in New York and her parents distressing break-up than by her much more public split from Pitt and her subsequent relationships.

All in all, I recommend this book as being well researched and nicely written. There are also plenty of pictures of Jennifer looking fantastic!
A fascinating read for Jennifer fans
I found this book interesting because it painted an insightful picture of Jennifer the person and, unlike other biographies, the story started with her birth rather than the beginning of her stardom.
Sean Smiths research accompanied by the fab picture galleries, really bring Jennifer to life. Highly recommended.
