I often sit at my desk, back and shoulders aching while staring at my computer screen so when I saw this book I thought it would be the perfect way to bring a little Pilates into my working day to help relieve my aches and pains. I have been going to Pilates classes now for a couple of months and have been enjoying the exercises as they are gentle and easy to follow and I feel relaxed and stretched afterwards. Although I know my posture is bad at work - slouching over my desk - it is difficult to think about zipping and hollowing all the time (don't worry that is explained in the book). This book explains the basics and has exercises and adaptations that I recognise from my classes and most are feasible to do sitting at your desk. A few exercises require standing up and using filing cabinets and tennis balls as props though!! I think these could be a little embarrassing in a large office but they are in the minority, maybe I will just do those ones when I get home! On the whole there are enough exercises in this book to keep me busy thinking about my posture and to soothe my aching muscles. It is a great little book to keep on your desk for those times when you need to stretch out your muscles and have a mental break from the day.
