Absolutely brilliant!

I'm writing this just seconds after finishing the last story. I'm not usually the sort of person who manages to find time to read on a regular basis, but from the moment I picked this book up (as a recommendation from my mother, I must say), I haven't been able to put it down. It has intriguing plots, and fascinating endings, which you very rarely expect. This book has definately made me a Morse/Dexter fan, and I can't wait to get some more of Morse and Lewis!

Morse is here....
This compilation contains all the elements which make up a classic Inspector Morse novel. An intricately woven plot, involving complicated characters enmeshed in a web of deception that only Morse can make sense of, makes for gripping reading. Lewis stands by as ever to assist and caution the inimitable Morse, and their friendship, concealed beneath their bluff exterior, is one of the most intriguing sub-plots. This is Dexter at his best, so stand ready with that dictionary and book of quotations; the Oxford version, of course. Notice one or two discrepancies with Dexter's later novels - Morse appears here as a phenomenally fast reader, whereas he takes twice as long as Lewis in The Remorseful Day. However, all in all, this contains some of the finest Morse novels, bringing to your armchair a scent of crime in the city of dreamy spires. Enjoy!
