Beyond the Game
|
Feinstein takes the reader beyond the ball games in this book about the NCAA Basketball Championships. He explains that there is far more to the tournament than simply what is seen by spectators and broadcast to millions through the medium of television.
The way that the tournament has progressed and grown in stature and financial backing are analysed in the book. We are told of the trials and tribulations that the coaches now face as they battle the gauntlet of reporters looking to get a quote. We learn how the scrutinous committee are not always correct in the way that they do things, especially in relation to seeding of teams for games.
The book is reccommended for all fans of basketball, but especially those are looking to read about the raw emotion of the players on their respective collegiate teams. These guys are doing all that they can to make it to the NBA and are prepared to leave it all on the court in their quest.
