Customer Reviews:
Don't waste your time!
You know things are bad when you start noticing all the editing mistakes within the first chapter of a book, and this book was littered with irritating instances of double word useage within the same sentence, and contradictory statements within pages of one another. Even the sex scenes were too same-y after awhile - not to mention the sheer silliness of some of the times the characters chose to have sex, considering the "dangerous" characters and situations surrounding them. I don't know why I bothered to keep reading until the end, as there were several times I was tempted to just throw the book in a corner - I guess there was always the hope that it might improve. It didn't. Even the "heroine", who was supposed to be some incredible under-cover agent, more than capable of looking after herself, faints when her wrist is broken. Don't waste your time or money on this one.
Good book in the SEALS series, but.
.....the characters were not as likeable as in the previous books in the series. In Dangerous Games, Kell had a heart, as did Reno in his tale, and even Clint in his. Yes, there's loads of hot sex, but there's almost an angsty feeling as Ian tries to keep Kira at a distance, to a degree that it seemed as if 'why?' needed to be asked. They are both professionals, both know the risks of loving each other, but for goodness sake, they needed to learn how to trust each other - professionally and both personally i.e. to know that each would not deliberately put themselves at risk. Towards the end, I was getting fed up with the start/stop relationship, but was cheered up to learn that Nathan Malone's story in Wild Card, due out in the next couple of months, appears to be the first in a new series connected to this one. I'm not sure why this book will not be a SEALs one, but bring it on. Overall, I did enjoy this book, but it was a bit 'whiny'.
