Better than you might expect!

I must have had this for around six months, persistently overlooking it because I thought it would be puerile at least, well it isn't, it's really very good. And another thing, I somehow thought it was the first in this series, well it's not, it's the fourth, so now I must begin at the beginning. Really good story line about American spooks interfering in Peruvian elections, sounds familiar? Got to wonder what Mr. DeFelice adds to his many collaborations with other authors (Marcinko, Dale Brown, et al) but he clearly gets it right in this top class piece of action.

Not Coonts best book
|
I have read all of Stephen Coonts novels and admit to being a fan. I read this book but was slightly disappointed with the formulaic narrative. It moves along at a brisk pace, and the inclusion of "technology" like the previous Deep Black books adds another dimension to the story. I would have to say that the story was very reminiscent of Tom Clancy's work. Good fun, but not his best.
