An Intimate Stroll Through The Past With Shamus Culhane

This is an autobiography very much in the style of "Chuck Amuck". A very talented animator telling us about himself from personal anecdotes which provides a much richer view of his life than any list of statistics and dry facts. Mr Culhane is a delightful companion throughout our read and even when we disagree with what he has to say we admire him all the more for letting us know what he really thinks about people. In other books most of the names in Hollywood animation are given a couple of lines and maybe a face too if you can pick them out of the Studio Christmas Photo but Mr Culhane turns them into real people with their own ups and downs. Sometimes their lives are sad sometimes great but in Mr Culhane's hands it's always fascinating. This is the kind of book you should read in front of the fire or in bed, somewhere warm and safe where you can give in to the feeling that the author is there with you telling you about his life in person.
