Rather disappointing.

Although there are some excellent and visually stunning photographs I was expecting many more pictures of the Scottish mountains and certainly an equal coverage of Scottish regions. Instead I found there were too many town pictures and too many arty-type (referred to as Patterns of Nature) of photographs that could have been taken anywhere - flat green fields, cut-off bits of sands and sea etc. Why some photographers insist on showing off in this way and detracting from the main theme I really don't know! There are no photographs of that most beautiful region, Dumfries and Galloway (Robbie Burns would turn in his grave) and little reference about any of the Border regions. By portraying a balanced photographic view of all the various areas of Scotland this book could have been really good. Sadly it fails to do this.
