It's quite possible to prat around for ages doing any sort of research holding the wrong end of the stick, and in management research it's very possible to spend effort waving the wrong stick entirely. This book helps enormously by describing the sorts of knowledge that are used in the various disciplines that management will encounter (management is interdisciplinary by nature), and more importantly what to do about engaging with questions in any of them. Rather than tell you, this shows you. Figure 0.2, the main stick-identification chart, and its accompanying explanation are worth the price of admission alone.
