Customer Reviews:
Comic relief.
This is another good one from Lynne graham. If you loved the Cozakis bride you will love this one. On the day that he learnt that his father was about to face financial ruin and lose everything that their family owned, our hero Nikolos Angelis also learnt that he can save the family fortunes by losing his own freedom. - Agree to marry Prudence Demakis and her grandfather will bail them out. At just 22years of age, Nick found this hard to swallow but his concern and loyalty to his family far out weighed his desire to hold on to his freedom, so he agreed to the terms of the financial deal that will save his family from ruin, which is to marry the grand daughter of one of the richest and meanest man in Greece. -
Arranged though the marriage may be, Prudence our heroine was in love with Nik - he was her knight in Shining amour, even though she was also forced into the marriage by her grandfather. - Her grandfather will pay her mother's medical bills if she marries Nik. While she loved Nik and appreciated his kindness towards her in the past, her foremost loyalty was to help her mother so she had little or no choice but to agree to her grandfather's terms. On Nik's part he thought that Prudence had connived with her grandfather to buy herself a husband of good Greek background. With all these going on, the basis for the arranged marriage was shaky from the very beginning. To make matters worse Nik's drink was spiked at the wedding reception and he was out cold for the wedding night. Prudence was totally humiliated by the wedding night non-event and Nik was totally embarrassed and frightened of what he may or may not have done that night.
With so much misunderstanding and a lot left unsaid, the shaky beginning to the marriage became a major quake and Prudence left Greece and came back to England.

Eight years has passed since the events of the wedding night and Prudence and Nik have never lived together properly as husband and wife but have maintained a good friendship with Nik living in Greece and visiting her a few times a year in England. It's her 27th birthday and Prudence has made some major decisions about her life as much as she loves her job as a veterinary nurse running an animal sanctuary, she wants to have a child of her own, so it is time to ask Nik for a divorce. As expected Nik arrives on cue to take her out for her birthday and Prudence has something very important to discuss with him - She wants a divorce. Nik is in shock, for the first time in eight years they are having an argument. Why does she want a divorce? The Angelis family does not do divorce, and Nik believes their marriage is for life but they have never really been married. As they discuss the events of their wedding night Nik finds out that their marriage was never consummated. He wants them to give their marriage a proper try, Prudence wants out and was forced to tell him the reason for her request. - She wants a baby and the sperm bank will do nicely. How does an alpha - male Greek tycoon tell the world that his wife got pregnant by the sperm bank?

This is pure comic relief. The hero Nik is adorable he went to great lengths to save and keep his marriage to Prudence and Prudence had enough backbone to stand up to him every step of the way. This is a very interesting and heart warming romantic tale, filled with comedy and high drama.
A good read
Eight years ago Prudence was forced into marriage with Nikolos Angelis by her controlling grandfather. Prudence secretly or not so secretly worships the ground Nik walks on. Unforunately the marriage is never consumated and Prudence flees to England and the pair continue their marriage living apart.

After eight years Prudence asks Nik for a divorce because she longs to have a baby. Nik informs her that he will be the father of her child. Prudence initially refuses but then when she becomes homeless she is forced to look again at Nik's suggestion.

I thought this was a very well written story. It was a very good read, I empathised with the main characters. My own complaint is that this book in characters and plot is very *very* similar to an earlier Lynne Graham book "The Cozakis Bride".
