This book acts as a supplement to normal French/English dictionaries, filling in the many gaps that exist between dictionary French and actual current usage. My French colleagues frequently verify the accuracy of terms given, and are equally frequently amazed by the coverage. Given that I am a Scot living in France with three young boys I also need to be able to decode the language that they learn in the playground, so that I can advise on whether they should continue to use certain words in polite company. For those wanting to understand "unusual" terms, many of which are extremely rude, this book is a must. It easily justifies its place on my desk next to a French/English dictionary.
