Customer Reviews:
Interesting book, but limited because it's unauthorised
There is not yet any autobiography of Graham Norton, nor any authorised biography. This book is limited by the fact that it was not written in co-operation with its author. This does not mean it is critical of him, quite the reverse, it is almost hagiographic. However it does give us a clear picture of the man and his life story. The sources are limited - the latter part of his career is documented from press cuttings and photo's, whereas the early part of his life is cobbled together from interviews with a very small number of friends and other sources. It is usually possible to tell where every quote originates (for example the description of Norton's home town Bandon as a lush and green can only have come from the Bandon tourist office, credited at the front of the book). The book does benefit from candid interviews with two of Graham's former boyfriends, and it is to Norton's credit that he is held in high esteem by these people even after the break-up of these relationships. This is very easy to read and gives a few interesting insights into the private life of this very public man.
Could have been so much better.
As a fan of Graham Norton, I found this book interesting, in that there was a lot of information about then man himself. The writing though, let itself down badly. There is no indication that the author ever met him or any of his family, so there are no amazing revelations. It's repetitive, with phrases repeated ad nauseum (play the "enemy of the people" quote game - fun for all the family!) Only buy this book if you are a die-hard fan of the Graham Norton and require a summer read that can be put down and left behind on the beach.
Brilliant book!
Im a huge fan of Graham and wanted to know more about him. Even though Graham doesn't really endorse this book for understandable reasons it's still very fascinating to read.
His life has been like a a roller-coaster, from his battle to find his sexuality to his attack to being what he is now. It's all interesting to read!
The interviews were also a very good part of the book. I never wanted to put the book down!

The only slight critasism is the way the author tended to repeat alot of the stuff and it got a little tedious.

Inspirational
This book is a fantasic (if unofficial) account of Grahham Nortons life. It talks to his friends and relatives about the kind of Graham they know and love. Many say different things but a lot of it comes down to the same point. What a witty and charasmatic character he is. He comes accross in his book the same as he does on Television, fun, camp, honest, slightly bitchy, but all the same a wonderful person.
