The magic of fishing
|
Like Rod & Line, a collection of articles originally written by Ransome for the Manchester Guardian during the 1920s, these gentle meanderings through the world of fishing capture that magical quality that all anglers know but find so hard to describe to those who don't follow the rod. The quality of Ransome's writing isn't as consistently good as that in Rod & Line but the nuggets of gold are still there. I have a handful of books that have become companions I return to down the years. This will be one of them. Excellent.
