Not worthy of the great Mr Ahlberg
I'm a big Allan Ahlberg fan, but this book was a severe disappointment. It struck me as self-indulgent: overburdened with deliberate author intrusion, asides and unfunny jokes, eg, I was a child myself once. The language seems to be pitched at adults more than children: 'no one has a monopoly on the ludicrous. The tale itself isn't particularly entertaining either. There are far better AA books to put your pennies into. Give this one a miss, or have a look through it at the bookshop.

Good book
A boy is called upon to deliver a wolf, asheep, and a lettuceto a nearby town. It sounds easy, but there is a mystery to unravel.
What really happened? Each one of the witnesses tell a different story, each one when they are the hero!
Then the wolf decides he's hungry while the writer is talking to him....
P.S. Too many quotes!!

The Riddle Review
My seven year old son wrote of this book (a Christmas present): The riddle to solve is hard without the answer! You will love this book.It will be brilliant! This book is all about a boy taking a wolf, a sheep and a lettuce to places in a cart. It is a very funny book. Even the lettuce tells his story.
