I first read this book when I was younger. To this day I always come back to this powerful story. When I first started reading this story, I did not know how I would react to this story. Mister Tom at first appears to be standoffish. When the young boy Willie Beech arrives we slowly see his heart appearing. This book made me cry with laughter and cry with all the feelings you feel for Mister Tom and young Willie. I loved everything about this story telling. If you have not got a copy, then you are really missing out from a great author who is so realistic in her story's. So what are you waiting for. Buy this fantastic book today. You will not be disappointed. I give this book in my opinion 20/20. It's that great.

Worthy of my elite shelf

I picked this book off a shelf out of boredom, but once read I immediately went to get a copy for myself.
It's wrong that this book can only be found in children's section in bookshops, so many more people will and have enjoyed this book of all ages. It's a wonderful story that I adore and has a pride place of my elite bookshelf, and I'm very picky about the books I place on it.

A Story that will stay in my heart

This is one of the few books that I will always enjoy reading and also one of the few books that managed to get a tear or two out of me. Though I've already read it, I couldn't help but buy the book as I wouldn't have felt right without owning it. The feelings it got from me and the fact that I couldn't put it down at one moment made it great. The characters are very well done, I especially love the main characters as well as Zach.
This is a good book, a good read. A definite recommend.

I think goodnight Mister Tom was a pleasent read but sometimes I felt like the story wasn't going anywhere sometimes. Michelle Magorian has thought up some interesting characters and used them in interesting ways.
My classmates and I read this book during class and i think its much better than doing work.

Michelle Magorian's `Goodnight Mr Tom', is an emotional rollercoaster of a book. At some times, it will leave you crying, at other times, you will be smiling with happiness. This book is great for people from about nine upwards. I read it when I was ten and I'm twelve now, and I still enjoy reading it. The story is about an evacuee from London, being transferred to the country to stay with a old man, known for his strictness. During the story, He receives a letter from his mother summoning him home. But what awaits him there I'll leave you to find out. I would definitely recommend this book, because I love a good emotive book.
