Customer Reviews:
Another brilliant book from Adele Parks
Wow! What more is there to say. Yet again, another amazing book from the super-talented Adele Parks! She is such a great author and really brings her characters to life. This is definately my faveourite book by her, althought it is a close contest as they are all fab! Thanks for the chance to read your work Adele. Keep writing, i can't wait to read your next novel.
Much more entertaining than expected!
I was recently on a trip to London and needed some emergency reading material. Ran into Tesco and bought this in the paperback section, expecting only light chick lit reading.

I was surprised how much I liked the stories! They really perked up in the second half and Parks did a pretty good job of character development.
Bit disappointed
This is not up to Adele Parks usual standard but would highly recommend all her other books.
Bored wives' tales
I found this book quite tedious and the characters slightly boring. Does anyone know a 'Rose'? I certainly don't...Her moaning and morals came across patronising.

The characters are only mid to late 30s but Adele Parks made them sound much older - they didn't have much fun, wrote themselves off as women - has she never watched 'Sex and the City' where women have fun and enjoy life...This group of women are not like any mid to late thirties group of women I know (I'm late 30s)...Even the title Young Wives' Tale is confusing as the women are late 30s so are not young are they?

I found Rose condescending, Lucy confusing and hard to believe, I think the only real character was Connie. John was a stereotypical male and Craig very unbelievable. Craig sounded more like a character from the Victorian era with his extreme politeness and manners and not a man from the 21st century.

I lost interest very early on...I kept going as I don't like to leave a book but I won't be reading anymore Adele Parks books. I read an earlier one and enjoyed it but this was very disappoiting.
Another fab read!
Another great book from Adele Parks that you won't want to put down! Loved the fact that we find out what has happened to the characters from her first book 'Playing Away'...now that they are all "grown up". Even if you haven't read Adele's first novel, this latest book 'Young Wives' Tales' stands very firmly on it's own designer clad feet as a funny, engaging, naughty and unpredictable book, which you will want to recommend and pass on to all your other girlfriends! Particularly enjoyed the spot-on "school gates/school mums" situations! A fab ready, strongly recommend and can't wait for Adele's next book!
