Don't resist the Cry
|
Melvin Burgess's plot unfolds in a tantalizingly gripping way. You suspend your disbelief as rapidly as your discomfort grows. Could there still be wolves in England? Will the hunter show any sign of humanity...even if only a name? Inescapably absorbed thirty three ten and eleven year olds listened as the mesmerizing plot rolled on. A story for a half term was devoured in less than three weeks, we just could not resist its pull. We wanted justice; revenge. To tell you more would spoil the power of this breath taking book. Don't resist the cry. Read it, whoever you are.

An amazing but tragic story of a pack of hunted wolves

This was a brilliant book - probably my all time favourite. It really makes you feel sorry for the pack of wolves that are being exterminated, and after reading it, I became actively involved in trying to save the wolf, which is an endangered species. Just as amazing as his other books, Burgess has done a fantastic job!
