A very undeserved and reluctant 1 star rating. This book was made an essential purshase by the university as a course prerequisite. Most of the code especially in the first half of the so-called java tutorial section does not work, e.g. pg 77 Strings are being compared using == operator. Most of examples are using the old deprecated java 1.0 version of event handling. The data structures section is explained using experiments. Mathematical concepts introduced without any mathematics.Simple examples are made impossible to understand due to overly complex and dated gui's used to display the results.
