all you need to know

This stats book is great for biologists. It covers pretty much everything and includes appendices of stats tables. It's a bit heavy going but lets face it which stats book isn't?

Useful for the non-expert

If you are like me, and you have a smattering of statistics, and occasionally find yourself in need of a statistical test in your work this book could be useful for you. It's not a book for theoreticians, but explains statistical methods and tests, and presents worked out examples that make it easier to decide which test is appropriate for your data. It covers a broad range of methods and I think you will find something to suit your needs in most cases. In this sense I think the book is useful for someone who isn't a scholar of statistics, but has call to use statistics from time to time.
