This is an extremely practical, comprehensive guide to developing all aspects of children's fine motor control. I have used the ideas with early years teachers in INSET courses who were enthused with the simple, imaginative suggestions for use in the nursery or infant classroom. I can see it would be of value to training teachers as well as experienced practitioners looking for new ways to promote these essential skills. With the enormous pressure currently, to push a pencil into every child's hand at the first opportunity, this book provides a range of alternatives to 'pencil control' as the prime way of developing fine motor control. The activities would be equally useful for providing extra practice for older children.
