Indeed, a book that every student and researcher in tectonics is supposed to have on the shelf. This volume concentrates on folds, faults and folding/faulting mechanisms. Although it contains a very long and broad array of information (examples, questions & answers, methods, case studies, plus excellent pictures), it still remains clear and extremely effective. Moreover, and perhaps the thing that really prompted to me buy it a few years ago, its style is of high philosophical and technical standard. The sheer impressive knowledge of Prof. Ramsay is here expressed with the clarity and simplicity that is the actual gift of true scientists, capable of conveying often complex technical information with simple concepts. Very heartily recommended.
