It's about the test proceedure & what the examiner is after

As a Driving Instructor (ADI), I use this book to show pupils what the test entails and what the examiner is looking for. I also use my experience sat in the back of the car observing tests.

If you want a book on how to pass the test then this is not really it, however, it does remove much uncertainty as to what the examiner is looking for and what not to do.

It should be considered as a companion for "Driving - the Essential Skills" also by DSA.

I do not recommend pupils buy this book unless they want to understand the test on top of what I teach them. There are plenty of other books much more suited to understanding the aspects of driving and of course a good structured, controlled course of learning by doing with a good ADI :-)

Far Too Simplistic

This book should and could do a lot more for new drivers than merely state the obvious, which is largely what it resorts to. A real lack of imagination on the author's part, I think. Common sense and a good instructor will be of much more use for any competent learner.

Advice is a bit general and vague

A lot of what it says is a bit obvious and if you're learning to drive, your driving instructor will have already covered a lot of it. It says a lot of things like "You will be expected to slow down and stop in good time" but doesn't give very much practical help.

These were a present for a friend and she past first time. Was it the books or her! She said they helped her immensely.

Packed with loads of great advice, well written & laid out. Full of helpful pictures and easy to understand, worth buying if you're a learner or an old hand.
